Well, after five months on IV heavy duty antibiotics, Brent is now antibiotic free. :)
We are not sure whether to be happy or to be scared to death.
It is for the best. The second TEE last week showed no infection on the valve, which is awesome.
So now we just sit back and wait, and hope, and pray, and cross all our fingers and toes, and hope that all is well, and that the infection is under control and doesn't make a reappearance.
Really, the only down side of not being on IV antibiotics anymore is that we no longer need to visit the infectious disease doctor. Not that we loved her or anything . . . the truth is, her office was just a few blocks from Trader Joes. Let's be honest, it was quite convenient to just drop in after every appointment. We kind of really like Trader Joes. We really need one in Provo . . .
