Well, CT scan today showed the abscess is not going away anytime soon. Brent is scheduled for another drain placement on Monday. :(
Blood work had actually gotten worse since going on Zyvox IV, twice a day, for two hours each infusion. It makes him sick and gives him serious headaches. He's still on it indefinitely.
On the upside, Dr. Hemmert talked to the Dr. who will insert the drain, and explained what happened two weeks ago and rest assured, he WILL be sedated this time, and it is NOT with the other Dr. who screwed it all up. Thanks Dr. H.
Brent is trying to get into work everyday for a little bit, but some days are better than others.

The purpose of starting this blog was to have an easy way for friends and relatives to keep up-to-date with Brent's condition. The last time he had surgery I spent so much time e-mailing and texting and calling everyone that I couldn't keep it all straight.
