Sorry for the lack of posts about Brent. It's another one of those times where I feel like if I say anything positive we will be jinxed.

Brent has actually felt pretty good the past two weeks. He has gone into work for meetings and has worked from home. The last CT showed no communication between the fistula and the intestine, which is good. His white count was up last week, and we ran cultures of the fistula output, but nothing was found. He will have more blood work done today, so we will see if it is still up or if it has gone back down.

We see Dr. Price again tomorrow. Brent is on the agenda for an ubber gastroenterology meeting today, with surgeons and GI's, so we will see what comes of that. We met with a GI up in Salt Lake two weeks ago, who is supposed to be one of the best in the area (we still prefer Dr. Hemmert, but he is retiring soon, much to our dismay.) He's not sure whether to treat the Crohn's, or treat the infections. You can't treat both, because the meds used for Crohn's inhibit the healing of the infections, and the treatment of the infections, usually cause Crohn's to rage. It's that vicious Catch 22 again.

Other than that, not much to report. Brent was an awesome care giver while I was sick for a week, although he says he prefers to be the patient. I don't know, it was kind of nice to have the roles reversed for a few days. :)
