Well, after meeting with Dr. Price and Dr. Jones over the past two days, we aren't quite sure what to think. Brent was the main topic of conversation at some ubber GI mtg on Monday, with several GI specialists and surgeons in attendance. They came up with several conclusions. After we got home yesterday Brent felt like there are just too many ideas, opinions, and just too many hands in the pot. They want to treat him as if he were as sick as he was a month or two ago. It seems as if nobody is noticing that he is doing better and the fistula is actually healing on its own for the first time in history. They want to attack the Crohn's disease full force with new meds even though the Crohn's is quiet. They told him not to eat anything, which actually he has been eating a few things over the past few weeks. And they are also considering hyperbaric treatments. It's just a bit too much right now to consider. Ultimately, he can decide what he wants to do and doesn't want to do. This is going to be interesting.
