Today Brent is receiving units 12.13. and 14 of blood. This is getting to be a habit. Actually it is getting annoying. He has to spend seven hours at IV therapy at UVRMC. Then he gets to go back on Thursday for four more hours to receive phosphorus, because it is on the national shortage list and can no longer be put into his nightly TPN. Craziness. We always hope that this time will be the charm with the blood. Unfortunately, there are still no answers as to why his blood levels keep bottoming out. We have an appointment with a hematologist in a few weeks. Hopefully he can find some answers. I told him to make sure that they give him the high octane blood today. :)
Here's hoping.
