We escaped to our happy place today in the Uintas. We missed a bunch, caught a bunch and got really sunburned. 🥵.   The sights, sounds, smells, and just plain beauty were just what we needed.

Brent is doing much better. He has been going to cardio rehab twice a week. He walks over a mile every day and is getting stronger. Yesterday he finished his IV antibiotics which is good. Maybe now he can get his appetite back. He is also back to work which is good.

This has certainly been a long haul for him. He is used to crashing hard but bouncing back fast. This time threw us both a curveball as he faced setbacks and disappointments. It has now been eight weeks since his heart attack and valve replacement. As we were driving up the mountain we noticed that the leaves are changing. We both commented, “how can that be?!  It’s still March!”  We feel as though with covid and three hospital stays we have lost so much time and all of Summer. It’s so bizarre to think that it is Autumn.

We understand and acknowledge that we are so very blessed. We know that Brent has been given the gift of life oh so many times. We do not know or comprehend why, but give thanks daily for this gift. We can not even begin to express our gratitude to our Father in Heaven, our family, and our dear friends for all that has been done for us. Just know that you hold a special place in our hearts.
