So, much to our dismay, today Brents central line was removed. We had decided that it was better to remove the line and reduce the risk of the bacteria attaching to the heart valve. The Dr agreed and so this afternoon they removed it. It was not easy. Poor Brent. 😢

Now it’s just another waiting game to see what his body does. The antibiotic he is on is the best one for this bacteria. Now we just need clean culture results. He can’t go home without either a PICC or another central line in his chest for his TPN. They won’t put another one in until the cultures are clean. Ugh.

So, if ya wanna pray for something specific, pray A) that the bacteria does not attack the heart valve and B) that the antibiotic works a bit harder to kill the bacteria still in his blood. Here’s hoping for a good day tomorrow.
