Well, after wondering if they really were going to do the surgery today, Brent went in at about 1:00. The blood work they did this morning was not good. His INR (blood clotting test) was too high. The surgeon could not do the surgery with the level that high or he would risk bleeding out. They re-did the tests, (the first time was not done correctly) and after two more hours they got the results and it was good. We got a little worried when he said he couldn't do the surgery today.(but just a little worried, because we still felt calm and knew that we were in the right hands.) The plan was to give him vitamin K for two weeks and then retest him to see if the clotting factor had changed. Fortunately, the tests came back much lower. So, we probably won't hear anything for another few hours. Thanks for the many prayers and good thoughts being sent his way.
